Tuna + Vegetable Pasta Bake
Looking for a yummy dish to feed your little fussy ones? Look no further!
This warm, easy-to-make tuna pasta bake is sure to have everyone wanting more! And best of all, it contains ingredients that may already be in your pantry!
This dish is so simple to make and one that all of our Bright Kids children absolutely love, and always ask to be on the menu!
Ingredients
- 1x tbsp butter
- 1x tbsp self-raising flour
- Three cups milk
- 2x 425g can tuna with brine or springwater (liquid included for 1 can)
- Two zucchinis, grated
- Two carrots, grated
- One cup peas and/or vegetables
- One cup grated cheese; and
- Pasta of your choice.
Method
- Preheat oven to 200C degrees.
- Melt butter is a large fry pan on medium heat.
- Turn frypan to low heat and add flour, combine to make a breadcrumb texture.
- Add 1 cup of milk and stir to remove any lumps.
- Slowly continue adding the remaining milk and whisk to make a creamy white sauce.
- Add in the tins of tuna (one with liquid, other without) and stir to combine.
- Turn fry pan back to medium high heat and add in all the vegetables, stir then simmer, and season with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile cook your pasta of choice until al dente.
- Once pasta is just cooked, drain and add in to the tuna mixture and combine.
- Place mixture into an oven proof dish and sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- And serve!
